Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 Annual

Schedule: M  - F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Summary: 

The Logistics Engineer is responsible for the utilization of technology to provide continuous improvement solutions to existing internal and external customers, as well as modeling fleets, pricing new business opportunities, and preparing proposal material for the Dedicated Sales staff.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Takes the lead on the larger, more complex projects and utilizes the skills of other Engineers to prepare a solution.
  • Take on a leadership role within the group by offering assistance, best practices, modeling ideas and working to streamline processes where needed.
  • Prepare and set up route optimization software to build accurate, detailed and competitive solutions.
  • Perform network overlay analysis to create continuous move opportunities within multiple shipper networks and C.R. England facilities throughout the country.
  • Perform continuous improvement tasks for existing Dedicated accounts to ensure efficiency is still at highest level
  • Determine most efficient utilization of resources by creating driver and tractor utilization reporting mechanisms.
  • Build ad-hoc database applications to pull data from proprietary systems. Databases will be used for continuous improvement initiatives and business intelligence for both internal and external projects.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new Engineers and ensure best practices are communicated.
  • Design various solutions through proprietary pricing model, present options to senior management and sales team in efforts to secure new and extended contracts with customers.
  • Maintain integrity of pricing model with updates from various departments such as Operations, Finance and Sales as well as any external sources that may be needed.
  • Work closely with Sales staff in efforts to continue to build growth in the company by securing more contracts.

Qualifications

Essential job requirements may include, but not limited to:

  • Proficient understanding of financial health Dedicated fleets and contracts.
  • Handle multiple projects with varying long and short deadlines.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and work effectively independently or in a team environment
  • Keep company leadership informed of project priorities and any issues that may require
  • Work with other department leaders to establish goals, align priorities and define departmental processes.
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so at all times.
  • Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image. Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress code policies.

Job qualifications may include, but not limited to:

  • Ability to work with office equipment, utilizing computers for majority of tasks and must be familiar with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Demonstrated data manipulation skills in Excel, Access, SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of logistics technology (Routing Software). Appian Direct Route user knowledge preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to prepare and present written and oral presentations to groups.
  • Must be detail orientated with ability to see how details impact large operational KPIs.
