Compensation: $70,000-$80,000/Annually

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Position Summary:

 

The Field Safey Supervisor is responsible for the management and execution of the dedicated division’s operational safety strategy, to include execution compliance monitoring, oversight of the safety captain program, and account manager safety engagement.

 

Please note:

  • Not a home/remote office role
  • Employees must live within commutable distance to the Fayetteville, NC Dedicated office

 

 

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist current Safety Captains with reporting and training.
  • On-Boarding new Safety Captains.
  • Conducting monthly Safety Captain accountability meetings.
  • Site Safety Audits and equipment inspections.
  • Oversee and certify knowledge assessments and driving evaluations.
  • Driver Huddle audits and training.
  • Customer centric safety visits.
  • Fleet centric safety plan deployment.
  • Fleet scorecard review with Account Managers for root cause analysis and action plans.
  • Conduct live safety meetings.
  • Targeted continuous improvement training on accidents specific to site and division.
  • Partner with Directors, Safety and VPs to develop safety initiatives for division.
  • Collaborate with Compliance on CSA points and action plans.
  • Monitor Smart Drive – Collaborate with Safety Manager & Account Manager to identify action plan.
  • Improve equipment inspection reporting compliance.

Qualifications

Job qualifications may include, but not limited to:

  • Safety in Trucking is a requirement
  • CDL-A holder is a plus
  • Ability to work with office equipment, utilizing computers for majority of tasks and must be familiar with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Proficient with Excel and other reporting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific logistics programs.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with drivers, other personnel, customers, and management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Travel Requirement:

  • 50-75% (estimate)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Capable of hearing, with our without correction, sufficiently to perceive normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication in order to facilitate meetings and work with internal customers and stakeholders by telephone and in person.
  • Position may involve kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds.
  • Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends, holidays and various shifts (to include evening and night shifts) as necessary.
  • Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and working with computer equipment.
  • Capable of speaking, writing, and reading English well and possessing a good command of the language so that various types of communications may be conducted in English with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
  • Capable of visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and read extensively.
