    Position Summary


    This position will help support the day to day activity of the Driver Managers, Logistics Managers and Area Planning Managers. You will interface with vendors, carriers, drivers and office staff.


    The Temp Tracker position is responsible for providing administrative support to the managers of the operation and can have a variety of clerical duties that will help the business run efficiently.

    • Track temperature of all moving equipment and make adjustments to temperatures using a web portal
    • Adding and removing of asset holds to facilitate repair and prevent cargo damage
    • Checking to ensure customer paperwork and loaded container temperature settings match and report any discrepancies to various managers.
    • Assisting drivers and customers with load/unload questions
    • Answer phone inquiries about detention, detention pay, and all fuel related questions.
    • Ensure all units are fully fueled at ingate to a rail facility and monitor fuel levels while in transit
    • Send out various reports on alarming units, low fuel units, and temperature exceptions to prevent cargo damage
    • Document and track overweight issues
    • Send Temperature Downloads to Cargo Claims upon Customer’s request
    • Monitor a shared email box and answer questions regarding unit maintenance and operation
    • Maintain involvement with Road Service to ensure timely completion of repairs of containers and chassis
    • Point-of-Contact for Operations Department vendor relationships including fleet maintenance,
    • Dealing with multiple customers at once

    Job qualifications may include, but not limited to:

    • Prior experience in transportation and logistics, preferably in temperature controlled
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet portals; TMS software knowledge a plus
    • Understanding of  transportation processes and standards and maintenance protocol for transportation equipment
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, communicate and understand English in a clear manor.


    Physical Requirements

    • Capable of hearing, with our without correction, sufficiently to perceive normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication in order to facilitate meetings and work with internal customers and stakeholders by telephone and in person.
    • Position may involve kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds.
    • Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends, holidays and various shifts (to include evening and night shifts) as necessary.
    • Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and working with computer equipment.
    • Capable of speaking, writing, and reading English well and possessing a good command of the language so that various types of communications may be conducted in English with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
    • Capable of visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and read extensively.


    Education and Experience:            

    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Transportation industry experience
    • Excellent organizational skills required.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
    • The ability to adapt to a changing environment.


    Working Environment and Conditions:    

    • Must have the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and/or delays.
    • Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances.
    • Must be able to handle incoming requests for assistance via phone and email while working on other tasks.
    • Must remain professional in light of challenging situations that may occur in the location.
