    Position Summary

     

    C.R. England, Inc. is seeking to hire a DOT Compliance Specialist.  The DOT Compliance Specialist is responsible for driver compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and interfacing with the Operation Groups. 

    • Must have the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and/or delays
    • Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances
    • Must possess strong Customer Service skills; natural tendency to respond to needs of clients/customers and resolve issues

    Schedule: Thur, Fri, Sat, and every other Sun 2pm-10pm

    Starting pay: $38,000 annually / plus bonus potential 

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Educate drivers regarding DOT regulations
    • Educate drivers regarding compliance, safety, and accountability
    • Manage DOT driver annual reviews and renewals
    • Investigate roadside inspections
    • Develop metrics to monitor driver compliance and vehicle safety and take remedial action whenever there is a lapse
    • Individually assess driver motor vehicle reports to implement remedial training or terminate or disqualify driver status
    • Assess convictions and make an independent decision based on the severity
    • Review CSA violations and take the appropriate actions including termination
    • Create and implement process improvement programs to decrease fleet compliance burden on Operations Teams
    • Investigate call in feedback
    • Manage vendors
    • Support DOT random drug and alcohol program
    • Identify reasonable suspicion and take action
    • Adheres to all policies and procedures as set forth by the Corporation and ensures that all employees are knowledgeable of and adhere to all standards set for by the Corporation
    • Support “Is My Driving Safe” reviews and videos

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • DOT Compliance, field related, or relevant experience working with regulations and or compliance
    • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite
    • AS400 and TMW system knowledge preferred but not required
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, exercise judgment and adapt directions from one assignment to another
    • Ability to maintain professionalism when communicating with team and management
    • This job is highly demanding and requires patience and professionalism
    • Motivated to work in a fast paced environment
    • Very dependable and takes ownership of work processes
    • Adaptable in a flexible environment
    • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communicational skills
    • Ability to work with sensitive situations and coordinate accordingly

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work extended hours, to include weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary
    • Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
    • Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed
    • Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities
    • Position may involve kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds
