About this position:

 

Claims Adjuster will review assigned claims and conduct an investigation to collect facts needed to determine the company's liability and evaluate the claim.  The individual will set and adjust reserves accordingly and reveiw repair estimates for commercial and personal vehicles.  This person will negotiate settlements in accordance with best practices established in the United States.

Responsibilities

Job requirements may include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Review Repair estimates submitted by claimants for accuracy and how they relate to the description of the accident. Send out for third party review as needed
  • Utilize critical thinking and solid judgement to solve problems, make decisions and resolve complex issues throughout the claims process in accordance with established practices used in the United States
  • Negotiate and settle claims with claimants and their attorneys
  • Utilize and maintain a diary system to ensure claims are handled in a timely fashion
  • Review aged claims and close out as appropriate
  • Utilize the different Rights to recovery and Statute of Limitations laws in the various states to obtain the best result for the company
  • Research and collect pictures, invoices and estimates for Accident expenses
  • Follow the Medicare regulations to ensure all Bodily Injury claims are settled correctly
  • Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so at all times
  • Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image. Must maintain a high standard of personal grooming and follow all uniform guidelines per your position and company policies.

Qualifications

Job qualifications may include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Transportation industry and maintenance experience preferred.
  • One or two years of experience with property and casualty claims with a consistent high level of performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards and practices and Federal Medicare regulations used in the United States as well as different states insurance rules.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Experience with AS400, BMI, Synergize, TMT and RM Client preferred.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic self-starter with excellent organizational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, exercise judgment and adapt directions from one assignment to another.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when communicating with team and management.
  • Motivated to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Very dependable and takes ownership of work processes.
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations.
